Microsoft and Turn IT On pair up to help a Buckinghamshire school go green
Microsoft recently approached Turn IT On to see if any of the schools we support would like to be part of a project they are running which measures the energy used by the school’s ICT equipment.
West Wycombe Primary School in Buckinghamshire were keen to be involved and signed up to the scheme. Microsoft measured the energy usage of their old ICT suite which comprised an old server machine and 50 PCs.
Over the summer, Turn IT On have successfully completed the installation of a brand new Discover Network and replaced the 50 machines for new models (call 01865 597620 if you would like a quote for an installation at your school).
Microsoft are due back at the school in the coming weeks and will be measuring the energy used by their new network. Microsoft will then calculate the school’s annual energy and money savings achieved by switching their outdated machines for new.
Results should be in soon and we’ll keep you posted! Let us know (office@turniton.co.uk) if you would like to find out more about Microsoft’s energy saving in schools project or if you would like to know how to make savings at your school.
