Announced today: the BBC micro:bit is being made available to buy in the UK!
After gifting the BBC micro:bit to up to one million year 7 pupils across the UK earlier this year it has now been announced that the BBC micro:bit is now available to pre-order to help inspire everyone to get creative with coding, programming and digital technology.
Building on the ground breaking role of the BBC Micro in the 1980’s the BBC micro:bit has been designed to be a fun and easy-to-use introduction to the world of technology, packed with endless possibilities for creativity to inspire coders of all ages!
You can pre-order your BBC micro:bit from today and all orders will be shipped in July so that you can spend the summer holidays exploring the new coding opportunities as it falls through your letterbox!
Prices range from £12.99 for a single BBC micro:bit; £14.99 for the starter kit ‘BBC micro:bit Go’ (including a BBC micro:bit, mini USB, battery pack and four project ideas) and £140.00 for a ‘BBC micro:bit Club’ pack which includes 10 devices and everything you need to start a coding club.
