School saves energy and costs on its computing thanks to Microsoft and Turn IT On
Regular readers of the Turn IT On blog will remember back in the summer when we reported our partnership with Microsoft in helping West Wycombe Combined School, Buckinghamshire, to ‘go green’ and save energy and running costs. Click here to read the post.
Microsoft have now published their report of the project, the full version of which can be read on the Microsoft UK Schools Blog. As is detailed in the report, comparative figures demonstrate a massive saving: West Wycombe’s previous system cost £2,164 annually to run while the annual cost of the new system, by contrast, will be £1086. The comparative before and after figures for CO2 emissions are, respectively 12,409 and 5,747 kg.
We are so pleased that the school will experience a clear difference in their running costs. We are also very happy that Turn IT On’s focus on value for money has contributed to this saving. The main benefit, of course, is felt by the teaching and learning standards at the school. With Turn IT On’s support and training West Wycombe will continue to benefit from their investment for the life of the technology.
We can all be proud of this great result; if you would like to find out if your school might benefit from an equipment overhaul, or if you need help with an equipment replacement programme, please do contact us on office@turniton.co.uk or 01865 597620.
